Defaka and Nkoroo

Language Documentation Project

News and site updates:

A number of new publication listings have been added to the papers page, as well as some new links.

Overview

This is the website for the Defaka & Nkoroo language description and documentation project. The project, led by Akinbiyi Akinlabi (Rutgers University) and Bruce Connell (York University & University of Kent), seeks to describe, record, and archive the grammar and tradititions of Defaka and Nkoroo, two endangered languages spoken in the Niger delta region of Southern Nigeria.

Welcome, and please explore the site. The menu on the left will take you to information about the Defaka & Nkoroo languages, their speakers, and the linguistic ecology around them. Please note that the site is still under construction; more information will be added soon.

Contact Information

If you have any questions or comments about the project, please contact Akinbiyi Akinlabi, or Bruce Connell.
